Sim-Lab GT1 Evo Review: Is It Worth Buying?

The Sim-Lab GT1 Evo is an aluminum sim racing cockpit designed for beginners and intermediate racers who want a solid, adjustable and upgradeable racing setup.

Unlike lightweight wheel stands, it provides a permanent platform for mounting a steering wheel, pedals, shifter and handbrake. Its modular construction also makes it easier to expand the setup over time.

Design and adjustability

The main attraction is the aluminum-profile frame. It is intended to reduce movement during braking and steering while allowing the driving position to be adjusted for different users.

The pedal mounting area can be repositioned, and the included side mount provides a place for a shifter or handbrake. Additional monitor mounts, seats and accessories can be added separately.

Who should consider it?

  • Racers upgrading from a desk or lightweight wheel stand
  • Users who want a permanent, expandable setup
  • Owners of mainstream Logitech, Fanatec, Moza, Thrustmaster and similar hardware

Important limitations

The standard cockpit does not include a racing seat. Depending on the setup, seat brackets, a slider and monitor-mounting equipment may also be required.

Final verdict

The GT1 Evo is a convincing starting point for a serious home sim-racing setup. Its main value comes from stability and the ability to upgrade rather than from portability.
